Makeup Review: Colour Pop Eyeshadows

Ladies and gentleman I have discovered the latest creation in eye shadow formulas! Just kidding, but seriously these eyeshadows are fairly new and they are AMAZING!!! One of my favourite beauty gurus on youtube talked about these shadows in one of her recent videos and after the video I immediately ordered a bunch of them because the formula really intrigued me! The company is called Colour Pop and they are made and situated in the U.S. They ship international and their price point is $5 a shadow which is nice and wallet friendly. They come packaged tightly and safely! I was quite impressed with all the padding. Also they include a cute little personalized letter which is a nice touch.

The best way I can describe the formula is basically that these shadows are a hybrid between the consistency and feel of Maybelline's Dream Bouncy blushes and the pigmentation of Makeup Geek eye shadows. Basically they are cream to powder finish. It is really interesting because if you push into the shadow pot your finger will sink in, but once applied to the lids they have the application and blendability of powder shadows. Their pigmentation is amazing with little to no fallout! You don't need to use these shadows as a base for other powder shadows because they apply like powder shadows and their pigmentation is intense already. They do not crease and they wear all day! The best way to apply these eyeshadows is either with your fingers or with a synthetic eyeshadow brush because with synthetic brushes, the product with sit on top and not sink deep into the bristles, allowing you to get the most out of the shadows.

Below are all the shades I bought with names and swatches. When I purchased them they had a deal going on where if you spend $30 you get $5 off so I bought seven and honestly I can't wait to buy more.

This is one of their tie dye eyeshadows and it has a metallic finish.

This eyeshadow is a warm brown with a satin finish.

This eyeshadow is an electric neon coral with gold glitter.

This shadow is an intense metallic, liquid-like gold.

This shadow is a true emerald with shimmery finish.

This shadow is a stunning cobalt blue with violet and silver shimmer.

This shadow is a black shadow saturated with intense purple glitter.

These are all the shadows I purchased this time and next I order I might get some more neutral shades because my favourite of this purchase was the colour desert! It makes a great crease colour to tone down some of these vibrant shades.

I love these eyeshadows and I strongly recommend them for anyone who wants to try something new without breaking the bank!

Appreciate the little things

My entire life I've had a version of a quote that I kept in mind and that was to always appreciate things while they are in front of you because once they're gone they will be missed. I've been feeling this lately with everything in my life. I try my best to appreciate everything and everyone around me but at the same time when I have a bit of bad luck I start resenting things. Recently I've been trying to appreciate all the little things in my life, especially because of everything happening with me currently. Just appreciating my health and my family because it can all change in a second. My parents are coming back today Inshallah from Lebanon because they were there on vacation, but things took a turn when my mom had to have emergency surgery. Alhamdulilah, she had the surgery and is doing great but it certainly opened my eyes and made me aware that no one is invincible. It made me appreciate my mother so much more and having her gone for so long has been difficult. It made me appreciate my dad who is there with her, because it was a hard thing to have to know his wife had to have surgery while they were away from us. I also appreciate the work and effort it takes to run a household. I'm married myself so I've moved out and have been running a house which was hard already, but when they left I found myself running two houses and making sure both houses were cleaned, had bills paid and things like that. I'm just more appreciative of everyone and everything around me. All of my close family and friends who have been taking time out of their day to check in on my brothers and I, and taking the time to cook and bring my brothers food. Everyone has been so wonderful and it warms my heart to know that Allah has guided people to check in on us. I just wanted to write this to remind people to say Alhamdulilah for everything and to remind your loved ones that you love them.

A few of my favourite things: June Edition

I went crazy in June and my poor credit card took the hit. But there are some great things I've been enjoying this past month and I would love to share them with you guys! The theme here seems to be things I'm loving this summer. So hopefully some of you guys will enjoy them too!

I decided to try out Elf products this month because they are so inexpensive and their website was offering 50% off of everything in the store so I went a little crazy. I've heard such good things about their products and few the dollars they cost, I bought a few lipsticks and OMG where have they been all my life! These lipsticks are incredible. Specifically the elf mineral lipsticks because I did not like the other ones very much. This shade is rosy tan and its a gorgeous nude colour for us tan girls! It works on everyone and the formula is amazing. I am just shocked at how long wearing it is and it doesn't make that ugly white line on my lips from talking. I strongly recommend trying them out, they are great lipsticks while being wallet-friendly.

This is the Too Faced Liquified Melted Lipstick in melted nude and they are all the rage right now apparently. I wanted to try them for the summer because I wanted a long wearing lipstick that I could stick in my purse and wouldn't break like actual lipsticks can. It has a felt tip applicator which is pretty cool and quite different from other liquid lipsticks I've tried. The colour is a beautiful lighter nude. It has enough brown in it for tan/olive girls to pull off but I would personally pair it with a dark smokey eye.

This is the Sugar Lip Treatment with spf15 by Fresh. This is an amazing lip treatment and its great for the summer because it has spf in it. It is also tinted which is nice to add some colour on a no makeup or minimal makeup day. Also it smells amazing and the packaging is very luxurious! The shade I have is sugar rose.

This setting spray really changed the way my makeup lasts throughout the day. This is the Urban Decay De-slick oil control makeup setting spray. It definitely control oils throughout the day and it makes my makeup look flawless.

This tapered brush by ELF is amazing!!! I cannot even express how much I wanted a tapered brush but every brand has them for too much money whereas elf has the brush for 3$. I bought it just to try and its amazing. Super soft and it doesn't shed! In fact most of their brushes are great too! I just loved the shape of this one in particular!

Better late than never I guess! Hope this helps anyone making a decision on buying any of these!
