MOTD: Summer glowy/dewy look!

I love makeup and I've been playing around with more eye shadows and high lighters lately to achieve the summer glow I want! These are all the products I've used to achieve this look! My goal was to be soft on the eyes and lips and really make my cheek bones pop! Hope you like it, let me know what you think in the comments.

Products used, in order:
1. Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
2. Garnier's Skin Renewal BB Cream in Medium/Dark (the slightly lighter one)
3. MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer in NC30 (to brighten up under eye areas and laugh lines and also to prime eyelids)
4. Set my face with Rimmel's Stay Matte powder in Transparent
5. For eyes I used a fluffy brush with MAC's Delphic bronzer in my crease and Makeup Geek's Beaches and Cream eye shadow on lid.
6. For eyeliner I used a glimmerstick Pencil from Avon in Black
7. For mascara I used Benefit's They're Real
8. For lips I used Rimmel's colour rush balm in Keep Mauving.
9. For bronzer I used MAC's Delphic bronzer from the new Alluring Aquatics Collection (it's stunning btw) and I used it to contour around my cheekbones and temples.
10. For blush I used Milani's Baked Blush in Berry Amore.
11. For my hi-lighter I used Hard Candy's Bronzer/Hi-lighter in Tiki (the most important step, really makes your cheek bones glow).

I know this may seem like a lot of products to have on my face for the summer but I needed my makeup to last all day because I was going to work. Either way I really liked it and it didn't feel cakey or heavy at all! This is my first post where I am showing my face and I hope to do more once I figure out how to get the best pictures with my camera! As for now, this is just a selfie taken from my phone. I used the app called Aviary to edit. Let me know if you like these posts!

A few of my favourite things: April Edition

So with April being my birthday month I treated myself to a few goodies that I've had my eye on for a while. I have been using these products for the entire month of April and I love them all so much! Enjoy!

I am absolutely head over heels for this powder! I would easily call this my holy grail product! I am someone with oily to combination skin, mainly being oily in my T-zone. This is what I powder my face with after I apply my makeup and most importantly to set my concealer. It's not pretty having your concealer creasing in any fine lines so this does the trick!

These lip butters are awesome! They are soft and creamy with a sheer to opaque coverage depending on application. I even use them under nude lipsticks sometimes so the colour doesn't wash me out. They are great for the summer and they come in such pretty shades!

I wanted to see what the hype was all about with this primer because everyone and their mama has it. So I purchased the travel size of it and I have to say it is definitely worth every penny! I love this primer! It helps me stay matte so much longer than any primer. It goes on so smooth and doesn't leave an icky residue on your face or hands!

I have been searching for nudes that will suit my medium to olive tone skin. The common nude lipsticks wash me out and just make me look sick. I started looking up nude lipsticks that would work with my skin tone and I found the Maybelline "The Buffs" collection. Any girl of any colour should be able to find a suitable nude from this collection. I chose the colours stormy sahara and truffle tease and I love them! I sometimes mix them with the revlon lip butters to add a touch of colour! They are great lipsticks, creamy and long lasting!

Last but not least on my favourites list are my favourite, holy grail brushes, my real techniques! I love this set in particular because I use all these brushes for the application and powdering of concealer and face products! They are amazing brushes with great packaging and and the bristles are soft and perfect for their function. Also they clean really well and dry much quicker than my other brushes! Note: I have been using these for a long time but I wanted to mention them in this favourites post!

Well ladies, these are favourites for last month, I know this is super late for an April favourites but hopefully it benefits someone who is looking into these products! Let me know if you guys use them too!

Makeup Review: Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

I've gotten back into using eyeshadows a bit more just because I'm done school so I have more time to play with makeup. I've been a big fan of Marlena from Makeup Geek on youtube and as many of you know, she is the CEO of her company called Makeup Geek and they make makeup obviously! She is infamous for her amazing eye shadows because they are very inexpensive for their excellent quality! I have bought thirteen shadows so far and I love them so much! I find myself reaching for them all time when doing eye looks because the shadows are super pigmented and they last all day! The picture below consists of thirteen makeup geek eyeshadows and the bottom five are mac eyeshadows. At first I was buying mac shadows but they are $12 a pan whereas the makeup geek pans are $5.99. So there was no question as to what the better buy was!

Colours from left to right: (first row) Frappé, Shimma Shimma, Beaches & Cream, Cinderella, Crème Brulee, Beached Blonde, (second row) Last Dance, Sensuous, Drama Queen, Prom Night, Hipster, Homecoming, and Envy (emerald shade).

Just for fun, the five bottom Mac shades are: Shale, Mythology, Malt, Brulé, and Vanilla.

Here are some swatches of the eyeshadows on my arm. These are a one time swipe colour pay off just to show the amazing colour pay off these shadows.

These are the swatches without any primer or base under them which I found to still be an amazing pay off! I strongly recommend these shadows to anyone that wants a good eye shadow for cheap!
Let me know if you guys have tried Makeup geek, hopefully this review helped anyone who was thinking about buying them!
