Sephora Haul: Skin Bender

I have been waiting patiently for my latest Sephora spree to come in the mail and I just got it today! I have been absolutely obsessed with skin products lately, so I've been looking for things that will give my skin the little boost it needs for the summer. I found this great set on Sephora's website called the Sephora Favourites "Skin Bender". As you can see in the picture it comes with travel sizes of some of their best skin products by a variety of their amazing brands. Most of these travel sizes cost quite a bit on their own so I couldn't believe I got this entire set for so cheap! It says $48 on the bag but because I live in Canada it cost about $58, which is still incredible! There is enough product in each of them to be able to try them out over a period of time! Also you get a really nice makeup bag with the package!

This set contains:
- 0.23 oz Algenist Advanced Anti-Aging Repairing Oil
- 1.9 oz Bliss® High Intensity 24-'Heaven'™ Healing Body Balm
- 0.17 oz Dr. Jart Ceramidin™ Cream
- 1 oz First Aid Beauty Ltd. Ultra Repair Cream
- 0.5 oz Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil
- 0.67 oz Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial
- 0.3 oz L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
- 0.5 oz Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation®
- 1 oz Origins Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash
- 0.5 oz Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream SPF 30 in Light-Medium
- Cosmetic bag

I also picked up the Benefit's primer trio mainly so I could finally try out the infamous Porefessional! The pack of three cost about $22 and it comes with three primers in their travel sizes.

Finally, since it was birthday this month I got Sephora's annual birthday gift for free! This year they are products by Makeup Forever including a mascara and a gorgeous lipstick!

Here are some more picture of the all the products!

Once I start trying all the products out and see how they work on my skin, I will post an update and see if I will be repurchasing any of them!

Marriage 101: Difference between Men and Women

I never fully understood the difference of thinking between men and women until I got married. It is so interesting to see how each gender thinks in certain situations. Some of things I have noticed so far irritate me because I couldn't understand why he wasn't able to listen and understand what was bothering me. Men tend to listen to the problems of women while focussing on finding a solution to their problems. For example, I could come home really bothered by a day at school or work and want to complain to my husband hoping that he would understand me and just be supportive. Instead he would listen to the problem and give me a list of solutions, like it was just that easy. It bothered me because I never wanted solutions, I just wanted my husband to make me feel better by listening and understanding. Part of it is my fault because before even beginning the conversation I had already set the expectation that he was going to shower me with love, understanding and support but that is simply not how he or most men respond. Men try to find solutions when sometimes women just need someone who will listen and feel for them. At least this is what I found in my situation.

Another thing I am working to improve on is me telling him what to do. My husband just recently moved to Canada whereas I was born and raised here my whole life. So I sometimes find myself telling him how to act or how not to act in certain situations. I have to understand that he needs to learn social norms on his own and he is allowed to make some mistakes without my constant guidance. Also men do not liked to be bossed around or told that they are wrong. One of the most hurtful things you can do to a man is make them feel dumb or make them feel like they don't know what they are doing. A man needs to figure things out on his own and come up with ideas on his own and if he ever does need help with something he won't run to ask you for help first. This is something I noticed in my relationship and so I'm learning to back off and try understand that it can be difficult for a man to accept help from his wife. I know how that sounds but its true! All the men in my life like my dad or brothers or uncles and even grandparents would accept help in a situation from litterally anyone except their wives. It is so interesting and weird but I can understand it now.

These are just some of the things I've noticed in my relationship thus far. I want my blog to be more of a lifestyle blog including my experiences with products, life events and just daily happenings. My marriage is obviously a big part of my life and I like to share my experiences so hopefully someone can learn, relate or just enjoy the read!

A few of my favourite things: March Edition

I have been wanting to post this for so long now because I have been loving some products and I want to share my thoughts on them! It's kind of late for March favourites but I've been using these mostly throughout March and I love them!

I have been obsessed with this lipstick ever since I got in the mail! It is the perfect nude for medium/tan/olive toned skin. It gives a beautiful light pink hue without washing you out. It goes perfect to tone down or balance a smokey look and I absolutely love it!

I found this mascara randomly one day when I went to work and realized I forgot to put mascara on! So I ran to Wal-Mart and grabbed the first mascara with a slim wand that I found. It turned out pretty great actually and I use it as a dupe for Benefit's They're Real. WARNING: after a few hours of wear it does flake a tiny bit, They're Real Mascara does not do that! So if you don't want to pay a lot it's still a great dupe!

I know this is a popular item among beauty gurus and they are totally right! I love this product and I buy it in a lighter shade than my foundation because I use it as a highlighter under my eyes, around my laugh lines and around the redness under my nose. I don't have much to conceal so it makes an awesome highlight and brightens up my under eye area without creasing in fine lines. Note: I do set it with powder!

This product has been my favourite for the past two weeks! I cannot even begin to explain my love for this BB cream. I have never been into BB creams that much because I find them sticky and don't offer the coverage I like in a foundation. This BB cream is amazing! It evens my skin tone out perfectly and feels so light. I apply with my fingers as well which gets a beautiful blended look making my skin look like skin! I just love the dewy look it gives me without making me feel oily. Sometimes I set it with powder, mainly if I need a full day of coverage. It's just so easy and gives benefits a foundation does not.

This one is obviously not a makeup favourite but I read all three books in March and I love the series. I like the realistic aspect of the ending and the way it was written really makes you never want to put them down! Great story and I loved the movie as well!

This website has been a life saver. I am an auditory learner and I understand and apprehend information best through listening. I used to be able to pick up a book and read when I was a kid, I loved reading and I was such a book worm. But lately ever since I got into university I hate reading. I can't focus for the life of me so this website/app allows me to enjoy reading again. I read the Divergent trilogy, The fault in our stars, Mockingjay and Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus all on Audible! It does cost money, first book is free but for people like me, it's worth every penny! I can listen while driving, doing dishes and before I go to bed just through my phone!

These are my favourites for March and I hope this gives you guys an idea of how they work and why I love them!
